Standards & Principles
Editorial Policy
The standards that govern every line we publish.
This policy governs all editorial content published by Shopygram — The Quiet Wealth Journal, accessible at shopygramcompany.shop. It applies to all contributors, editors, and commercial partnerships. It is not subject to negotiation. Parties who cannot operate within these standards do not work with Shopygram.
I. Editorial Independence
Shopygram is an independent publication. No advertiser, sponsor, brand partner, affiliated company, or individual investor holds any influence, formal or informal, over our editorial decisions.
Our commercial activities — which include referral arrangements with verified luxury partner houses — are structurally separated from the editorial function. The editor responsible for a piece of reporting has no visibility into, and receives no financial benefit from, any commercial arrangement related to the subjects they cover.
This separation is not aspirational. It is the operational basis of our existence. A publication that cannot make this guarantee is not a publication — it is a marketing vehicle.
II. Verification Standards
Every factual claim published in Shopygram is verified against primary sources before publication. Our verification hierarchy is as follows:
First preference: primary documents (contracts, regulatory filings, official statements, audited financial reports). Second preference: direct confirmation from named or on-record sources with direct knowledge. Third preference: cross-referenced reporting from at least two independent, established publications with documented editorial standards.
We do not publish figures, projections, or claims that cannot be verified to at least the third tier above. Where specific data is cited, the source is attributed inline or in a footnote. Where data is proprietary or commercially sensitive and cannot be attributed, we indicate the basis of the figure and the reason for non-attribution.
III. Sources & Confidentiality
Shopygram protects the identity of confidential sources. We will not identify, directly or indirectly, any source who has provided information on the explicit condition of anonymity. This commitment holds regardless of commercial, legal, or third-party pressure.
Where a source requests anonymity, we note the basis of their knowledge ("a senior advisor to the transaction", "a person with direct knowledge of the allocation process") without identifying details. We do not fabricate sources, composite sources, or publish claims attributed to sources we have not independently verified exist and have relevant knowledge.
Requests to inspect our source verification process may be directed to our editorial desk. We will respond to such requests within five working days.
IV. Conflicts of Interest
Shopygram contributors are required to disclose any material relationship with subjects they cover. "Material relationship" includes: current or former employment by the subject entity; a financial interest above a de minimis threshold; a personal relationship with a principal of the subject entity; or prior consulting or advisory work for the subject.
Disclosed conflicts are evaluated by the senior editor before publication. In cases where a conflict is determined to be material, the contributor does not write the piece, or a full disclosure is published alongside the article.
Where Shopygram has a referral or affiliate arrangement with a brand or company that is mentioned in editorial content, this is disclosed within the article under the "Editorial Independence" notice. Our position: the existence of a commercial relationship does not disqualify a subject from editorial coverage, but it must always be disclosed.
V. Corrections Policy
We make mistakes. When we do, we correct them fully, promptly, and without qualification.
Corrections are published at the top of the affected article, clearly labelled, with a note of what was incorrect and what the correct information is. We do not delete incorrect content without a corresponding correction notice. We do not silently amend articles without disclosure.
To submit a correction request: email shopygramcompany@gmail.com with 'Correction Request' in the subject line. Include the article title or URL, the specific claim you believe is incorrect, and the evidence or primary source that supports the correction. We commit to reviewing all correction requests within 48 hours and publishing verified corrections within 72 hours.
VI. Sponsored Content & Affiliate Arrangements
Shopygram publishes sponsored editorial content in limited circumstances. When we do, it is labelled clearly as 'Sponsored' or 'In Partnership With [Brand]' at the top of the piece. Sponsored content does not appear in editorial sections of the site and is never mixed with independent reporting without clear visual and textual separation.
We maintain affiliate and referral arrangements with a number of verified luxury partner houses. These arrangements — disclosed as "Editorial Independence" notices within relevant articles — mean that Shopygram may receive a referral fee when a reader transacts through a curated link. The existence of this arrangement has no bearing on editorial coverage: we do not write about partners because they are partners, and we do not omit negative information about partners to protect the arrangement.
Partners who attempt to influence editorial coverage are removed from the programme.
VII. Artificial Intelligence
Shopygram uses artificial intelligence tools as research and drafting aids. All AI-assisted content is reviewed, verified, substantially edited, and approved by a human editor before publication. No article is published without human editorial oversight.
We do not represent AI-generated content as primary reporting, first-hand observation, or direct quotation. Where AI tools are used to analyse data, summarise primary documents, or structure research, this is considered an editorial tool equivalent to a database search — the output requires the same verification standards as any other research method.
Our position: AI is a tool. Editorial judgment, primary verification, and accountability to the reader remain exclusively human responsibilities.
